A speakeasy inside Maitland's oldest hotel
This sandstone building is one of the oldest in East Maitland, first opened as a hotel in 1837. After years of sitting quiet, father-and-son duo Jason and Nic brought it back to life as a hidden cocktail bar — Chesterfield lounges, low lighting, and a sliding bookcase door into the main room.
The whole place runs on the same easy, unhurried feel as a late-night jazz bar: a spot for a quiet drink, a special occasion, or an evening that isn't in a hurry to end.
Meet the team — Nic's behind the cocktails, and Jason's the one who'll sit with you and share the history of the place if you ask.
